Hollystown Golf Club founded in 1999 lifted its first Pennant, winning the UDEN Cup Final versus Skerries G.C., on Saturday, 22nd August.
Hollystown took home a lead of 4 to 3 following a very competitive 1st leg at Skerries and fought hard in what proved to be an excellent match to win out 8.5 to 5.5
Hundreds of Club members came out to cheer on the Team of twenty led by Adrian Nash and Tom Walsh. Captain Michael Edwards said “It was the Club's proudest moment in its ten year history”. The Vice Captain of Skerries; Tom Lacey said “It is always hard to loose a final, but when it is to a club winning its first Pennant in such a sporting match it makes it easier”.
Then on Sat 5th Sept the Club won its Second Pennant when the members were out again in their hundred cheering on the BEST CUP TEAM led by Rob Richards. Hollystown took home a substantial lead from Newlands G.C. of 4.5 to .5 and went on to win the match 8 to 2.
Not to be outdone by the Men three of Hollystown Ladies: Audrey Burke, Ann McCartney & Catherine Hetherington won the All-Ireland Best Nett Team Trohpy played in Woodenbridge G.C.
